About Us
Established 1938
John Fryer and Sons is a small family run business, started in 1938 by John Fryer. The farm is on three sites, mainly orchards with a specialist conifer nursery. The farm is now run by John Fryers three sons Jack, Robert and Charles, along with other members of the family.
Jack Fryer started Hull Farm Conifer Centre up in 1975, selling Conifers, to the wholesale market. And retail by appointment.
Robert Fryer and Charles Fryer farm the orchards. We grow Apples, Pears, Plums and Cherries at Hull Farm, in 1985 we acquired the land at Lawford which is now a mixed orchard one end, we grow Braeburn, Gala, Cox and Russet for the supermarket and we grow a variety of top fruit, Apples, Medlers, Crab Apples, Pears, Plums, Greengages, Damsons, Quince, Blueberries, Sweet Cherries, Morello Cherries, Cherrie Plums, Cobnuts, Christmas trees for thr Farm Shop the site of Fryers farm shop.
Wendy Fryer deals with the Apple Juice and goes to the local Farmers Markets, with fruit and juice.
Susan Fryer runs the Farm Shop at Lawford. With the help of nephew Simon Fryer, and other members of the family. Simon also works in the orchards, and with the Farmers markets, shows and deliveries.
Simon Fryer and Kevin Waters help with the pruning and supervise the summer orchard work and picking.
